Refrigeration Apprentice – Assistant Installer
The Refrigeration Apprentice – Assistant Installer supports the installation, maintenance, and servicing of wine refrigeration systems. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the refrigeration/HVAC field while working alongside experienced technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with layout and installation of wiring and refrigeration lines (line sets) for wine refrigeration systems
- Support installation of condensing units (entry-level involvement to start)
- Help prepare equipment and materials prior to scheduled installations
- Safely operate standard maintenance tools, including power tools, hand tools, and basic electrical testing equipment
- Assist with general and preventive maintenance on wine refrigeration equipment
- Maintain and restock spare parts inventory in company vehicle; assist with ordering parts as needed
- Organize and label equipment and installation materials
- Keep service vehicle clean, organized, and properly maintained
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times
- Respond to service requests in a timely manner
- Assist in completing work orders and departmental reports, including uploading photos and documentation as required
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Basic Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete tasks in a self-directed work environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules, including short-notice assignments
- Reliable and punctual, with readiness to begin work upon arrival at job sites
- Willingness to travel occasionally for out-of-town jobs (company-covered expenses)
- This position may require flexible hours depending on project needs
- Other duties may be assigned based on business needs and workload
